WUA Radar Baggensstäket cultural reserve and Svartkärrsberget habitat protection area have been inaugurated in Nacka. The cultural reserve, the municipality’s first, covers Gammeludden and the northern side of Stäket. The habitat protection covers older natural-like forest. The designations protect different values and form part of Nacka’s goal to protect 30% of its nature.
Nacka Municipality describes positive development in the 2026 progress report for Framgång Fisksätra. The programme started in 2022 and became permanent in 2025. It highlights multihall activities, more children in preschool, adult education and guidance at the library and family centre, but the published news item gives no exact change figures for safety, crime or employment.
The new Gnistakören is for people living at home with dementia. It starts on 8 October from 13:30 to 15:30 in Strandhagen’s dining room and runs for eleven sessions during the term. Relatives may accompany participants but are not required, and no previous choir experience is needed.
The placement of care assessors at Södra and Hallstavik health centres is being made permanent after a spring pilot. Assessors have attended two days a week, giving residents and healthcare staff a closer route to municipal care support. The published notice says the permanent arrangement applies from 1 September 2027.
Second-year pupils on Rodengymnasiet’s technology programme will use the Vätövägen redevelopment as a real design and construction project. Cooperation begins this autumn with lectures and study visits. After New Year, pupils will work in groups from the municipal feasibility study and design programme, but no completion date for the road has been decided.
The three-year SPIRA project in Gnesta reached 113 young people who were neither working nor studying, compared with a target of 75. The external final evaluation says 41% moved into study and 21% into work. The project ended in August, but the municipality is carrying parts of the approach into its statutory youth activity responsibility.
Norrtälje’s executive committee decided on 7 September to allocate SEK 11.5 million for a new local road and distributed grants for safety and sustainability projects. It also proposed a joint Roslagen organisation and an AI policy. Those two matters go to the municipal council and have not yet been finally adopted there.
Around 2,150 children took part in two Olympic Days at Siljansvallen on 4 and 5 September. Twenty local sports clubs offered try-out activities with Leksand Municipality and the Swedish Olympic Committee. Friday was for pupils in years 1–4, while Saturday opened to the public and attracted around 2,500 visitors.
Eskilstuna Municipality is prioritising reading comprehension and mathematics after PISA 2025 showed continued declining results in Sweden and internationally. The municipality describes screening, early support and research collaboration with Mälardalen University. However, the announcement does not present separate PISA results for Eskilstuna pupils.
Gnesta Municipality will commission an independent external review of its overall financial processes, focusing particularly on payments. At the same time, the municipal finance unit is examining transactions in ongoing projects. The executive committee decided on the review on 1 September following a transaction highlighted and reported to police in the spring.
