What happened?
The collection count, commonly called the Wednesday count, handles ballots that could not be counted at polling stations on election night. Borås says 4,000–4,500 ballots are waiting, roughly three times the 1,384 processed in the 2022 election.
During election day, discrepancies were noted between registered and delivered advance votes. Additional ballots were collected during the night with help from local postal staff and municipal employees so they could enter the continuing count.

Impact and significance
The large number means election-night results may be supplemented by an unusually high volume of valid ballots. It does not by itself mean the ballots were missing or lost; the system has a specific stage for advance and overseas ballots reaching the correct district late.
