Construction of Torsby’s new central kitchen at Stjerneskolan began on 9 September. The 1,500-square-metre facility is designed to prepare up to 2,500 meals a day and operate during emergencies and war through adapted power and energy systems. Opening is planned for the 2027/2028 year-end, when the kitchen at Torsby hospital will close.
Lund’s proposed new energy plan is open for comments from residents, businesses and associations until 1 October 2026. It prioritises efficiency, local renewable production and a more resilient energy system. It has not yet been politically adopted; consideration is expected in early 2027.
Gnesta is planning a new intake at Lake Klämmingen, a waterworks, a raw-water pumping station and new pipes. The system is intended to combine surface water with the existing groundwater source as a reserve. The investment framework is SEK 447 million, but that is a maximum authorised amount rather than a final project cost.
Four advance votes received at two Huddinge libraries on 28 August are affected by a registration error. The municipality has identified and contacted two voters. The remaining two can only be narrowed down by place and exact time and must vote at their regular polling station on 13 September.
When polling stations close at 8 p.m. on 13 September, preliminary counting begins. Ballots are counted manually several times: first at polling stations, then in the election committees’ Wednesday count and finally by county administrative boards. The preliminary result may therefore change before the Election Authority confirms the parliamentary election.

A new round of Språklyftet has started at Reveljen in Sollefteå. The course combines Swedish language training with vocational knowledge in healthcare, elderly care and disability support. Municipal adult education runs it with the disability and elderly care services for employees seeking stronger language skills and confidence in daily work.
Osby’s executive committee has decided to use SEK 300,000 for equipment and activities at existing after-school centres for pupils in years 4–6. The 2026 investment budget had reserved the money to start a leisure club, but the department concluded that project could not be delivered this year. The redirection creates no new municipal cost.
Two new quality coordinators began work in August across Mjölby’s education system, from preschool to adult education. They will support headteachers and staff with development work based on operational needs. Their first two years are financed from the SEK 1 million per year allocated to the education department for 2025–2027 to improve school results.
