Valdemarsvik municipality welcomes students and guardians to the school year 2026/2027 with the start of school on August 17. The municipality collects links to school times, school meals, school transport as well as e-services and forms for pre-school, primary school and leisure centre.
Nationwide non-profit organizations can apply for grants from the wildlife conservation fund between August 14 and September 30. For the grant year 2027, the Environmental Protection Agency may distribute a maximum of SEK 14.5 million. Visitors could also board the ships Gunilla and Kvartsita. Öckerö Municipality describes the day as well attended but does not specify the number of participants.
Älmhult Municipality is cutting larger stands of Canadian goldenrod and tall goldenrod in Älmhult and Diö during August and September. Residents are advised to remove the plants before they set seed and put plant material in residual waste or containers for invasive species, not in compost.
Valdemarsvik municipality has marked the democracy evening on August 25 as canceled due to too few registrations. The event would include a lecture by Johan Wänström on democratic processes in the local community and practical information from the municipality’s democracy committee.
Uddevalla municipality is planning a car-free courtyard, accessible footpaths, cultivation, outdoor gym, wheelchair swing and more seating at Österängen’s nursing and care homes. The investment is estimated to cost approximately SEK 12 million and is planned to be completed in 2026.
