WUA Radar Tidaholm is reviewing alternatives to today’s delivery of hot meals to home-care users. Two possible models are chilled meals reheated at home or assistance buying food and daily necessities. Before a decision is made, a public dialogue will be held on 22 September and a survey offered online and on paper.
Valdemarsvik is taking part in Preparedness Week 39 under the theme ‘You are part of Sweden’s total defence’. Households are reminded to manage for at least seven days during outages, cyberattacks or extreme weather. On 23 September, Vammarskolan’s shelter is open for a tour, while a digital exercise simulates a seven-day outage.
In Mark’s advisory referendum, a preliminary 72% voted no to allowing grades 4–6 at schools in Björketorp, Fotskäl, Öxabäck and Torestorp to be moved. A total of 16,490 votes were recorded, including 298 blank and 51 other invalid ballots. The final result is due on 18 September; the council makes the formal decision.
The Children and Young People’s Mobility in Society project, BUMS, aims to make everyday walking and cycling easier and safer in Eskilstuna. Children and young people take part in design, while pilots are measured before and after. The EU- and municipality-funded project runs from 1 September 2025 to 31 December 2028.
During September and October, Varberg Municipality is training all preschool and compulsory-school educators, teachers and principals on threats, violence and ongoing lethal violence. Training is combined with local discussions and practical exercises. The municipality has previously prepared crisis plans and surveyed safe rooms at all relevant sites.
Preliminary election-night data show turnout rose in several parts of Halmstad’s municipal election. In Andersberg’s two districts it increased from about 45% in 2022 to about 61% in 2026. The municipality ran more than 150 pre-election activities, but final figures and the impact of individual measures are not yet established.
Borås election committee expects about 4,000–4,500 ballots in the collection count on 16 September, compared with 1,384 in 2022. These are mainly advance votes that did not reach voters’ polling stations on election day and overseas ballots. Counting starts at 09:00 in City Hall and is public.
After election day, the Wednesday count, the county board’s final count and party negotiations remain. Gnesta’s new 31-seat municipal council takes office on 15 October and holds its first meeting on 19 October. New committees and other political bodies take office on 1 January 2027; the present organisation continues until then.
After several leaks and discoloured water in Björnlunda, Gnesta Municipality began flushing the pipe network on 14 September. Work is expected to take about a month. Ongoing tests say the water is safe for drinking and cooking unless advised otherwise, but brown water can stain laundry and leave deposits in appliances.
Preliminary turnout in the parliamentary election is 72.3% in Södertälje, almost two percentage points higher than at the previous election. Ronna, Geneta, Hovsjö, Brunnsäng and Fornhöjden show rises of 9–17 percentage points. The figures are not final; the county board’s check is expected by 25 September.
