WUA Radar The Public Health Agency and several national partners have launched a prioritisation guide for municipalities, regions and others working on suicide prevention. It is designed to help organisations select measures that reach groups with the greatest need. The latest statistics report 1,220 suicides in Sweden in 2025, nine fewer than the year before.
Essunga Municipality is sending a wellbeing survey to a sample of children and young people aged 7–17. Selected participants receive a letter with a QR code and personal login code, while responses are said to be processed anonymously. Results will inform officials and politicians; the survey does not automatically include every child in the municipality.
Lilla Edet’s municipal executive committee has approved a SEK 1,000 payment for wild boar shot within the municipality. The municipality will also use collection depots during larger hunts and serve wild-boar meat in municipal meals. The bounty is subject to conditions and forms part of a broader attempt to reduce the population near homes and farmland.
The Naval Port of Karlskrona and the Agricultural Landscape of Southern Öland are hosting the Nordic World Heritage Conference. The two days cover heritage, sustainable development, preparedness, digitalisation and local participation. Prince Carl Philip opens the event in Karlskrona on 15 September, with day two taking place on southern Öland.
Following a trial in municipal kitchens, all Leksand employees will gain access to the KIA app for reporting incidents, risks and positive workplace factors. One group of eight kitchen employees reported around 20 cases and several were addressed directly. The experience shows more reporting but is not a statistical evaluation of accident rates.
SL and Region Stockholm have begun utility work ahead of the tram extension towards Helenelund. Work is focused on the north side of Kistagången between Isafjordsgatan and Arne Beurlings torg, with sections on Nolsögatan and Torshamnsgatan. It runs on weekdays from 07:00 to 18:00 until the 2026/2027 year-end and may cause temporary disruption.
Finspång is proceeding with the renovation of Arena Grosvad campsite after obtaining planning permission. Four round cabins will move from Lotorp to join the three already on site. All seven will be refurbished, one made accessible, and the old service building replaced with a new one containing a kitchen, showers, toilets and laundry facilities.
Mörbylånga plans to open Sandåsgården in Färjestaden in April 2027 while changing the roles of Rönningegården and Äppelvägen. The two existing homes will be dedicated to dementia care. Short-term care moves from Rönningegården to Sandåsgården, which will also provide dementia, nursing-care and respite places.
The Swedish Schools Inspectorate says Eskilstuna provides strong conditions for Swedish-language development in preschools and ensures staff competence to a high degree. Three preschools were included and no development areas were identified within the reviewed areas. The decision assesses the provider’s support in this quality review, not every preschool or every child’s results.
Södertälje Municipality is bringing science, technology and mathematics teaching together through the ‘Röda tråden’ development programme. Teachers will receive shared themes, activities and materials from preschool through adult education. The short-term aim is better support and greater consistency; long-term pupil outcomes have not yet been reported.
