Mölndal’s town hall gets a new roof, renovated windows and a better entrance

Mölndal has begun renovation of the roof and windows in the older part of the town hall and is adapting the ground in front of the entrance for better physical accessibility. The project started at the end of June and according to the schedule should be ready towards the end of November. Entrances are kept open, but noise and temporarily closed ground surfaces may occur.

Stage two of Stora torg in Halmstad leads about 800 bus trips per day

On August 17, stage two of the reconstruction of Stora torg in Halmstad starts. Brogatan is closed between Storgatan and Köpmansgatan and approximately 800 daily bus trips are rerouted, mainly via Karl XIs väg and Slottsbron. The work includes a new stop, stop pavilion and adaptation for articulated buses and is expected to last until February 2027.

Älmhult opens competition for sustainable work trips during mobility week

Workplaces in Älmhult municipality can register teams for the Commute sustainably competition by September 7 at the latest. The competition runs from 14 September to 11 October and awards points for walking, cycling, public transport, carpooling, remote work and combined travel. Teams may consist of up to 15 participants.

The completely renovated TorsbyBadet will be inaugurated on August 29

Torsby municipality is inaugurating the completely renovated TorsbyBadet on Saturday, August 29, starting at 12 noon. The program includes an opening with Linn Gestblom, live music, movement activities, water competitions and free swimming. The municipality also offers sausages and festis and refers to the bath’s website for the entire program.

Falköping proposes a municipal group treasury and new rules for rural community grants

On 12 August, Falköping’s municipal executive working committee considered population measures, a shared financing function for the municipal group and new rural community grant guidelines. The financing function is proposed to begin on 1 October and the grant rules on 1 September. The municipal council will make the final decision on the financing arrangement.

Borås ends Den Blommande Staden with a garden party in the City Park

On August 27, a plant market and Garden Festival will be organized in the Stadsparken in Borås. The market is open from 12pm to 7.30pm and the stage program starts at 4pm. Visitors can take part in a flower walk, listen to gardening lectures and see a presentation of upcoming plant news. The entrance is free of charge.

Borås is recertified for systematic work with water and ice safety

The Swedish Lifesaving Society has again certified Borås as a Water Safe Municipality. The certification applies to systematic work with, among other things, swimming skills, trained bathing personnel, information about water and ice and safety equipment for the public. Borås received its first certification in 2022 and a certification period is valid for four years.

New business course in the Trollhättan area starts in October

Nyföretagarcentrum Väst offers the course Take the step into your own for people who are considering starting a business or have recently done so. Five courses are held in Trollhättan and the surrounding area between October 13 and November 18. The price is SEK 995 including VAT and registration is binding.

Tomelilla accepts applications for local vision funding until 15 September

Associations, organizations and other actors can apply for Tomelilla municipality’s vision funds for ideas that develop the municipality and create value for residents or visitors. The application must be submitted by September 15 at the latest. The municipality uses this year’s Jester’s market as an example of a project that received support.
