Lilla Edet Municipality and the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise invite business owners, politicians and officials to a free lunch meeting at Thorskogs Slott from 11:30 to 13:15 on 30 September. The municipality has risen 53 places in the organisation's 2026 ranking. Registration is through its website.

What happened?

The meeting will review this year's result and discuss possible success factors and ways to continue developing the local business climate. The invitation addresses three groups approaching the issue from different perspectives: businesses, elected representatives and municipal employees.

The event and lunch are free. The municipal page links to registration with the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise but gives no registration deadline or maximum attendance. Interested people should therefore check availability in the booking system.

The venue is Thorskogs Slott in Västerlanda. This should not be confused with the municipality's separate breakfast meeting during Business Week.

Location

Lilla Edet, Västerlanda, Västra Götaland

Impact and significance

The ranking is based on the Confederation's recurring survey in which businesses assess factors affecting local operating conditions. A rise of 53 places shows movement in the ranking, but does not by itself show the size of change in each component or how every local business views conditions.

The lunch meeting provides an opportunity to examine detailed results and discuss possible explanations. Understanding the ranking fully requires its methodology, response rate and individual scores alongside the position.

Background

The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise has conducted its local business climate survey for more than twenty years. The municipality describes this year's result as positive and uses the meeting for further dialogue. That is the organisers' interpretation; this article makes no independent comparison with other municipalities' measures or economic development.

Latest update

The invitation was published on 8 September. The meeting is on Wednesday 30 September and is scheduled to finish at 13:15. Anyone wishing to attend must use the external registration link and should check any booking conditions there.
